XENOSAGA AND HOW WE VIEW FAILURE

Sometimes you’ll have an experience that changes you in some way—big or small—and you won’t even realize it until the experience has come and gone. For me, I would occasionally find myself thinking back to the ending of the over-looked and under-appreciated Xenosaga trilogy from the mid 2000s. This project was done for no reason other than my own fulfillment and closure—Which I’d assert is the best reason of all.

The Dot Hack Retrospective: Where’s that remake at?

Back with another pedantic deep-dive on a long-forgotten video game from the early 2000s! This time, we’re taking a look at the long-dormant Dot Hack series and examining everything from its combat to how its narrative functions within the scope of the larger multi-media franchise it belongs to. What is it that made these games so memorable and mysterious? And are they deserving of that special treatment that only the most influential games get: The Remake? (Spoiler alert: they totally are.)

Final Fantasy X is in a pretty weird spot, ya?

A lot’s been said over the years regarding the varying, uh, quality of the work within the Final Fantasy X mythos. Though the common consensus appears to favor pretending the story ended with the original, I’ve decided to play devil’s advocate and explore why the potential Final Fantasy X-3 should at least be given a chance.

Well, if you like the world of Spira, at least.
